Events and Calendar

Events at Wentworth

We place great importance on extending our learning to our families and throughout the year there are opportunities for the children to invite their families to share in the learning experiences here at Wentworth. The events are held at either the start of the day commencing at 8:30am or the end of the day in line with school collection times, the sessions are well attended and enjoyed by both children and adults; with adults stating "The times are great for working parents".

Parent Consultation Sessions

In addition to the daily contact we have with families we provide formal consultation sessions where the class teacher will share information with parents about how their child is progressing academically, socially and emotionally. This is an opportunity to share both achievements and next steps in ensuring that together we meet the needs of our children. This is also an opportunity for parents to share their thoughts and ideas on life at Wentworth. Parent Learning Sessions

Throughout the year the staff and children will share with their families ways in which we deliver areas of the curriculum, this provides an opportunity to support home learning in an engaging way. We currently offer parent learning sessions to support Spelling, Phonics, Maths and Writing. We have received very positive comments about our sessions which are always appreciated.

"It helped to see fun ways to learn and practice"

"There is such a variety of ways to learn"

Fabulous Finish Exhibitions

Each theme is celebrated through a Fabulous Finish Exhibition where the children get to share the learning that has taken place around their theme, it is an opportunity for children to share the work they have completed in both core and foundation subjects driven by the chosen theme text. This is another session that is well received by both adults and children.

Visits to Church

Throughout the year we have opportunities to make links with the church in the strive to acknowledge our Christian distinctiveness. We currently hold services in church for Harvest, Christmas and Easter. These are opportunities to enable the children to retell the messages of the Christian Faith through dance, drama, poetry and song and for us to come together as a whole school.

"As always a lovely service by all of the children"

"beautiful singing as always, with catchy songs"

"Very enjoyable with the children speaking from all areas of the floor"

Fundraising Events

We regularly hold events to support the wider community, raising awareness of those less fortunate than ourselves. Our school council, through their meetings decide on the charity of the year and we look for ways in which to raise funds throughout the year, where the children are proactive in organising and delivering events. The chosen charity for this year is Bluebell Wood Hospice, the link will allow you to explore the great work that they do Bluebell Wood Hospice Website Link.
